Open rehearsals

Younger group: ages 11–14
Older group: ages 15–19

Running time: 60 minutes 
for organised groups 

 

 

A unique opportunity to witness a rehearsal at the Polish National Opera for primary school pupils and secondary school students and observe opera and ballet artists at work.

Each age group spends around an hour at the rehearsal, beginning at 10:30 a.m. (younger gorup) and noon (older group). During a break in teh rehearsal, the conductor will join the children to answer their questions about the production and his or her work. 

We ask teachers to spend at least one lesson familiarising their pupils with the content of the opera or ballet, discuss the literary and social themes the piece explores, and identify the universal message it carries, before attending the rehearsal.
